And finish the session with a Yoga Nidra.

Pranayama / Meditation Workshop

This workshop is an intro to meditation and pranayama (breathing techniques).

It is a myth that the average person can sit with an empty mind.  Most yoga students feel intimidated to even try to attend a meditation class, they say, “oh no!  I can’t sit with an empty mind.”  Yes, that sure is the goal for those who want to become meditators.  But for now, we can allow the thoughts to come and go.

You will learn how to sit as still as we can and talk about the different positions one can use to invite calmness of the body. Even if it means that the body is not completely still, calmness is more important when you sit in meditation.

The workshop will begin with some pranayama (breathing) to center ourselves, followed by a walking meditation to get your energy to further mellow down, before settling into a guided meditation.

If you have never tried to meditate before, this workshop will give you the basics.  If you are a meditator do join us, you may pick up something different. 

Breathing techniques help calm the mind and relax the body.

Join us for an afternoon filled with creating, connecting, and goal setting. What do you want your 2021 to look like? January is the perfect time to reflect, imagine and dream.

The workshop will begin with a guided meditation to set your mind and intention. We will use the rest of the time to begin creating our vision boards by using images from magazines, we will create a visual tool to help connect to what we really want in life, how with want to feel and who we want to become.

Snacks, drinks, magazines, boards, markers, scissors, and glue will be provided. Feel free to bring other things for your board (photos, stickers, etc). Dress comfortably and bring a mat . No yoga, meditation or vision board experience is needed.

This workshop will introduce the basics of yoga from the ground up, those looking to learn the modifications to practice safely, or those curious about yoga. Explore alignment and breathing along with foundational poses and centering.
